Best Time to Visit
November to April is Doha's season, and December to February is the best of it: average highs of 22–25°C and evenings warm enough to eat outside on the Corniche. What rain Qatar gets falls almost entirely between December and April, and even then it is only 10–17mm a month across a couple of wet days. December is the busiest and dearest month — Qatar National Day on the 18th, floodlit sport at Lusail, hotels running close to capacity — so book two to three months out. March and April stay comfortable, but spring is Al Sarayat season: thundery, gusty weather that hazes the sky with dust and can cancel a dhow afternoon. The north-westerly shamal is a winter and high-summer wind, so it can just as easily blow through your December dates. Ramadan falls roughly 8 February to 9 March in 2027; daytime dining is restricted and the pace of the city changes, though rates soften. July and August average 42°C with heavy humidity, and June to September is when the deepest suite rates of the year appear.
Insider Tips
Do the outdoors first and the museums last. Put the Khor Al Adaid inland-sea drive — a half-day 4x4 run south to where the dunes meet tidal water on the Saudi border — on your first full morning, because a spring dust storm can scrub it and you will want a spare day to reschedule. Keep the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum of Qatar for afternoons; both deserve two hours, not forty minutes. Souq Waqif only wakes after four o'clock, and the falcon souq is the part most visitors walk straight past. The mistake people make is planning a full Friday: the malls open briefly in the morning, shut for midday prayers and reopen around one, while the souq's shops stay closed until four — so take the morning slowly and save the souq for the evening.

When is the best time to visit Doha?
November to March is the golden season — warm days, cool evenings, and perfect beach and rooftop-pool weather. Summer is extremely hot, so the rhythm shifts indoors to the museums, the souq by night, and spa days. The cooler months also carry the city's best events and its most reliable blue skies.
