Cheval Blanc Randheli opened in November 2013 in Noonu Atoll, reached only by seaplane, with 46 villas by Jean-Michel Gathy. The overwater Water, Horizon and Lagoon Villas stand on stilts at 220 square metres; the beachfront Island Villas measure 240 square metres, or 315 with two bedrooms; the two-bedroom Garden Water and Lagoon Garden villas (295 square metres) open onto garden and water. Each has a 12.5-metre pool. Above them sits Cheval Blanc Randheli Private Island: four bedrooms for eight guests in over 2,200 square metres, on its own one-hectare island with a private jetty, a 25-metre pool and a team of Ambassadeurs.
Five restaurants and three bars carry the kitchen side. Le 1947 serves an 11-course French dégustation menu on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only, Island Chic dress code; The White runs from breakfast to dinner; Deelani stands on stilts over the lagoon, Mediterranean with Italian signatures; Diptyque cooks Japanese and East Asian at open kitchens, dinner Friday to Monday. The Cheval Blanc Spa has an island of its own, reached by traditional dhoni, with what the Maison calls the Maldives' only Guerlain rituals and a Leonor Greyl salon. Ask for the private island when a group of up to eight wants one address with its own staff. Couples do well over the water: the Horizon Villa sits at the very end of the pontoon, facing the ocean; families take the two-bedroom Island Villa for the beach, or a two-bedroom Garden Water or Lagoon Garden villa for garden and lagoon together.
