Mauritius sits in the southern hemisphere, so its seasons invert Europe's. The cooler, drier winter (May to November) brings the most reliable beach weather — sunny days, low humidity and calm lagoons — and is the west coast's kitesurfing season on the strong trade winds. The warm, lush summer (December to April) is hotter and greener with occasional tropical showers; the cyclone risk sits mainly from January to March. For a pure beach trip, the May-to-November winter is the safest bet, with the shoulder months either side offering the best balance of warmth and value.
