The Privata Perspective

Félicité is a private island of granite boulders 30 nautical miles northeast of the international airport on Mahé, and Six Senses occupies a third of it. Arrival is a 20-minute helicopter flight from Mahé to the resort's own helipad, or a 20-minute speedboat run from Praslin. Studio RHE designed the resort to blend into the tropical landscape; for the residences, the architects' test was that nothing should be visible from outside the island. It opened in October 2016.

Keys are few: 28 one-bedroom and two two-bedroom pool villas, each with a private infinity-edge pool, plus three residences outside that count. Three of the one-bedroom categories share a 200 sq.m footprint, so the choice is position: Panorama sits high for the view, Oceanfront close to the water, and Pasyon adds an extended garden. We steer couples to the Signature Pool Villa, the largest of the one-bedroom villas, facing the sunset and the ocean. Families and groups take a residence: Seascape has three bedrooms, Ocean Sounds and The Sanctuary four each.

Beyond the villa there are three sandy beaches, a Grow With Six Senses club for children aged four to 11, three walking trails through the jungle, and a guided hike that reaches the top of the island in 90 minutes. The MICHELIN Guide gives it One Key in its 2026 selection. Time the trip by the wind: April, the monsoon reversal, brings light winds and the kindest sea of the year, while August, the peak of the southeast trades, brings rough water — a month to take the helicopter rather than the boat.
