The Privata Perspective
Four Seasons built this one above the city rather than in it. It stands at Troon North, beside Pinnacle Peak Park and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, looking out over the Valley of the Sun and the lights below. It opened in December 1999, purpose-built by Hill Glazier Architects, and holds 210 keys — 188 rooms and 22 suites, spread across twenty-five casita buildings.
Floor area is not what you are buying. Almost every casita category runs to the same 500 square feet, so the premium goes on where it sits — Vista and Premier take the outlook, and three rooms carry a firepit on the patio. Above them, the one-bedroom plunge-pool suites double the footprint to 1,000 square feet.
We book it for winter desert weeks, for spa stays, and for families who want the space. October to April is the season; the summer heat is why rates fall. The firepit casitas number three, so we request one the day a booking is confirmed rather than on arrival.
