The Privata Perspective
Four Seasons did not build this one. It reopened a historic estate on the Formentor peninsula in August 2024, after a restoration by Estudio Lamela with interiors from Gilles et Boissier — the estate is old, everything laid over it is new. A hundred acres of private ground at the island's northern tip, inside a 1,200-acre nature reserve, with a kilometre of beach.
Aspect decides the stay here, not floor area. A Pine-View Room and a Sea-View Room are the same forty square metres, so the premium buys what the terrace looks at rather than more room. One category does change the space: the Garden-View Room with Plunge Pool, sixteen keys at 49 square metres with water of your own. Above them sit thirty-one suites.
We book it for couples who want the Balearics quiet and for families — there are two pools, adult and family. Late spring or September, when the peninsula road empties. Shima and Llum i Sal are reserved the day the room is.
