The Privata Perspective
Costa Palmas puts this one on the Sea of Cortez rather than the Pacific, which is the argument — gulf water along a two-mile beach, with a marina, a farm and Robert Trent Jones II's Costa Palmas Golf Club. It opened in October 2019, purpose-built, to a Guerin Glass design with interiors by TAL Studios.
Aspect decides the stay, because size does not. All six guest-room categories print at 63 square metres, so the money buys view and plunge pool, not floor area — thirty-six Ocean-View rooms, only eight Oceanfront with a pool. Above that, Executive Suites run to 79 and the Sunrise two-bedrooms top the house at 209.
We book it for families who want gulf water rather than Pacific swell, and for golf-and-boat trips where the marina earns its keep. November to May is the settled stretch; late summer runs into hurricane season. The Oceanfront plunge-pool rooms go first — request one the day the booking is confirmed.
