The Privata Perspective
The building came first. Gresham Life Insurance put it up in 1906; it spent decades as apartments; Four Seasons opened it as a hotel in June 2004, with Richmond International on the interiors. The Art Nouveau shell is original — glass ceilings, ironwork gates, stained glass, floor mosaics — the hotel inside it is not.
The view is the decision. Of 179 keys — 160 rooms, 19 suites — 51 are Danube River-View Rooms at 33–42 m², facing the Chain Bridge, Buda Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion. The 55 Gresham Rooms are bigger, at 38–47 m², and look onto the courtyard, Zrinyi Street or Mérleg Street. Take the smaller room.
Two named venues in total: KOLLÁZS – Brasserie & Bar and MÚZSA. Everything else the hotel lists under dining — afternoon tea, Sunday brunch, cakes to go — is a service, not a restaurant. Plan on eating out most evenings. We book late spring and early autumn, and ask for a high river floor with the room.

One only, and the largest key on the property, looking over the Danube, the Chain Bridge and the Buda Castle hill

The Spa has five treatment rooms plus a dedicated couples' room and a relaxation room, with steam rooms, saunas and a 12-metre indoor infinity-edge pool. Interiors are by Patric B. Fejér of Formanyelv, and the signature treatment is a Hungarian Moor Mud Therapy.
