Four Seasons Hotel Firenze
A 1473 palazzo and a second palazzo across the largest private garden in Florence, ten minutes on foot from the Duomo
The Privata Perspective
Four Seasons Firenze is two palazzi and a park. Palazzo della Gherardesca dates to 1473 and holds the historical suites; Palazzo del Nero, across the garden, was renovated and folded into the hotel more recently and now carries thirty-six of the keys along with the newer restaurants.
The garden is the argument. It is the largest private garden in the city, and it is why the hotel reads like a country estate ten minutes' walk from the Duomo. One hundred and twenty-one keys, seventy-six rooms and forty-five suites, and the historical suites are the ones worth the money if the building is why you came.
Il Palagio holds a Michelin star. We book Florence for spring and for the harvest weeks either side of September, and we book the garden-facing categories first — the rooms that look onto neighbouring streets sit in the same price band and make for a different hotel.
