A tented camp, and the constraint is what makes it: Bensley designed around the existing trees rather than clearing the site, so the twenty-two tents are scattered down a valley of rice terraces above the Wos River and none of them see each other. Each tent carries the story of a member of an invented 1800s expedition — the Explorer, the Cartographer, the Naturalist, the Puppet Master — and it is carried through to the last buckle.
This is not the Ubud of the town centre — you are roughly twenty minutes north in Keliki, which is the point. The Cistern, a twenty-metre heated pool over the Keliki valley, is the shot everyone comes for. Note the count carefully when you book: twenty-two one-bedroom tents plus one two-bedroom lodge, so a family of four is a specific conversation.
