Belmond Eagle Island Lodge
A water-safari lodge deep in the Okavango Delta — mokoro canoes, helicopter safaris, and eleven raised tented suites
The Privata Perspective
The Okavango is the inverse of every other safari: a desert delta that floods each winter into a maze of channels, lagoons, and islands teeming with life. Eagle Island — eleven thatched, tented suites raised on platforms deep in the Delta — is Belmond's water camp, where game viewing happens by mokoro dugout canoe, motorboat, and helicopter with the doors off.
Gliding at eye level past elephants crossing the channels is the Delta's signature experience, and the birdlife — fish eagles, herons, carmine bee-eaters — is among the richest in Africa. We combine it with Savute for the land-and-water pairing, timed to the flood for the full water-safari experience.
