January to March and June to October are the dry seasons; the Great Migration typically occupies the Maasai Mara from roughly July to October, with the dramatic river crossings inside that window. The November short rains bring green landscapes, softer rates and fine resident game. Nairobi is pleasant year-round at altitude.

The classic circuit is a Giraffe Manor bookend in Nairobi, three or four nights on the Mara escarpment at Angama, and two or three in Laikipia at Segera — connected by scheduled light aircraft, no repacking logic wasted. For the migration river crossings, commit nine to twelve months out; for everyone else, the January–March window delivers superb game with half the vehicles.

Yes — one night of giraffes leaning through the breakfast windows is the most joyful start a safari can have, and the fully-inclusive manor runs beautifully. But with only twelve rooms it books out close to a year ahead. Tell us your dates early and we secure it as the bookend to the main safari.
