Rosewood Vienna opened in August 2022 in the former headquarters of Erste Group Bank on Petersplatz, across from St. Peter's Church; Rosewood describes the hotel as four restored 19th-century properties, and names its rooftop bar, THE1835, for the year the buildings were completed. The hotel counts 103 keys, split into 64 rooms, 33 suites and six Houses, and the Michelin Guide gives the hotel two Keys.
The view decides the booking. The St. Peter's Suite, 62 square meters and loft-like, has canted floor-to-ceiling windows facing Peterskirche from both the bedroom and the lounge; the St. Peter's Wellness Suite adds a private sauna and steam bath, worth having when Asaya Spa runs only two treatment rooms. The corner St. Stephen's Suite looks over the Old City to the cathedral. Deluxe Rooms face either the inner courtyard or the street, so ask which.
We book it for couples who want the Old Town on foot, and for families who need an apartment rather than a room: Treichl House has two bedrooms in 160 square meters, and the one-bedroom Graben House sits under the original stucco ceiling of the old Erste Bank boardroom. Eat at least once at Neue Hoheit on the sixth floor, which Michelin's inspectors single out as the hotel's high point.

Spa and wellness at Rosewood Vienna
Asaya Spa is small: two treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam bath and an experience shower. Since 1 August 2026 its treatment concept has been a partnership with the Austrian skincare and spa brand Susanne Kaufmann. Two- and seven-day programmes created with the MAYRLIFE Day Clinic can be added to a stay, and the gym uses Technogym equipment.
The best time to visit Rosewood Vienna
September–October
Rosewood marks September as the start of Austria's wine harvest, and its Meet the Vintner Tour picks guests up at the hotel for tastings at up to three vineyards; Heurigen tables are still outside
November–December
