The Privata Perspective

Milan's grand hotel is a convent. The house on Via Gesù was built in the fifteenth century, restored rather than replaced, and opened as a Four Seasons in April 1993. BAMO did the interiors, Patricia Urquiola the spa, and Urquiola returned in 2021 to redo the restaurant, bar and public rooms.

Aspect decides the stay here, not floor area. Fifty of the 118 keys are suites, and the garden is what you are choosing: eighteen Premium Rooms and sixteen Studio Suites are sold as garden-view categories, and the six Cloister Suites are the largest of the standard suites at 80 to 87 square metres. Above them sit the specialty suites, topped by a 177-square-metre Presidential.

We book it for the fashion weeks and the design fair, when Milan fills and the garden rooms go first, and for clients who want one quiet address between Montenapoleone and via della Spiga. Zelo and a spa treatment are reserved with the room, not on arrival.
