Yala National Park, home to one of the densest leopard populations anywhere, is within a two-hour drive for morning or afternoon safaris.
Amanwella also serves as a base for exploring Sri Lanka's cultural heritage: the rock fortress of Sigiriya, the cave temples of Dambulla, and the sacred city of Kandy are all accessible as day trips.
