The Tangalle coast is far less developed than the island's western shores, and the surrounding area offers exceptional experiences. Yala National Park, home to one of the densest leopard populations anywhere, is within a two-hour drive for morning or afternoon safaris.
Amanwella also serves as a base for exploring Sri Lanka's cultural heritage: the rock fortress of Sigiriya, the cave temples of Dambulla, and the sacred city of Kandy are all accessible as day trips.
