Amanwana
Safari-style tented camp on the uninhabited Moyo Island nature reserve
The Privata Perspective
Aman's wildest and most adventurous property — a luxury tented camp on the uninhabited Moyo Island, a nature reserve off the coast of Sumbawa in eastern Indonesia. The 20 safari-style tents, constructed from canvas, teak, and natural materials, sit within a tropical jungle that teems with wildlife: monitor lizards, macaques, wild boar, and over 100 bird species.
The marine environment surrounding Moyo is exceptional. Pristine coral reefs, untouched by development or heavy fishing, support extraordinary biodiversity and offer some of Indonesia's finest diving and snorkelling outside of Raja Ampat. The resort's dive centre provides equipment, guides, and instruction for all levels, including night dives and drift dives along the island's dramatic underwater walls.
Inland, jungle treks lead to hidden waterfalls and natural swimming pools, and the sense of total isolation — no roads, no other structures, no light pollution — creates a Robinson Crusoe experience that is increasingly difficult to find anywhere on earth. Amanwana is for travellers who want their luxury tempered with genuine adventure.
