Ed Tuttle brought Pacific Rim minimalism to the American West with startling effect. Perched at 7,000 feet on East Gros Ventre Butte above the town of Jackson, Amangani's lodge of redwood and Oklahoma sandstone faces the Teton Range head-on — a wall of jagged granite peaks that constitute one of the most dramatic mountain panoramas in North America.
In winter, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort — renowned for its expert terrain, 4,139-foot vertical drop, and consistently deep snowpack — is minutes away. In summer, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks provide wilderness experiences of extraordinary scale: grizzly-bear viewing, backcountry hiking, fly-fishing on world-famous rivers, and wildlife safaris through the Lamar Valley.
The 40 suites are designed around the view — every room faces the Tetons, with floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, and wood-burning fireplaces that make the mountain panorama the centrepiece of the experience. The heated 35-metre outdoor pool, steaming against the backdrop of snow-covered peaks in winter, is one of Aman's most iconic images.
