Marguerite is the newest of the seven, and she is new to the collection rather than new to the water: Belmond's own announcement, dated 16 March 2026, describes her as thoughtfully transformed from the former Amaryllis, joining the French fleet from late summer 2026. Amaryllis is not a sister boat still sailing somewhere — it is this hull's previous name, and broker sites listing both are selling a boat that no longer exists.
The name is the French for daisy, and the interiors follow it: soft yellow tones, floral motifs and contemporary stained glass made by Atelier Loire in Chartres, with the fine woodwork crafted at Saint Rémy. The dining table carries a mosaic of Marguerite daisies, each petal shaped and inlaid by hand. Eight guests in four double suites, every one en suite, with an open-plan salon and a large open deck where there is a heated plunge pool.
Menus are the work of Dominique Crenn, the three-Michelin-starred chef behind Atelier Crenn — though she does not cook aboard. A private chef travels with the boat and prepares her menus table d'hôte, with regional wine pairings included. Ashore, Belmond puts a private lunch at the Château du Clos de Vougeot on the itinerary, a private mustard-making workshop in Dijon, and e-bike tours along the Route des Grands Crus.

The same route in reverse. These two are the only Marguerite itineraries Belmond publishes, and every journey across the seven-boat fleet runs six nights.
The cabins
Double suite
Four of them, each en suite, finished in soft yellow with floral motifs and stained-glass detail. Belmond publishes no individual suite names or sizes, so we do not invent them.
On board
The open deck and pool
A heated plunge pool on the open deck, framed by wildflowers and herbs, with room to eat outside. Note this is a pool, not a jacuzzi — the jacuzzi belongs to Napoléon.
The salon
An open-plan living space rather than a series of rooms, which is what eight guests on a barge of this size allows.
The dining table
A single table, served table d'hôte, inlaid with a mosaic of daisies. There is no named restaurant or bar aboard — this is a private house, not a ship.
Bicycles
Available on board on request with helmets, and central to the Route des Grands Crus e-bike excursions. Belmond asks for guest ages and heights in advance.
Booking this boat
Marguerite is whole-boat charter only, for up to eight guests — Belmond's per-cabin Open Sailing option applies to Napoléon alone. Because a charter is a private hire, children are welcome; the minimum age of 12 applies only to per-cabin bookings. Belmond publishes no cruising season for her and no build year for the hull, so we confirm the operating calendar before anything is held. She launched in late summer 2026, which makes the first full season the one to book.

Is Marguerite a brand-new boat?

Can I book a single cabin on Marguerite?
No. Marguerite is sold as a whole-boat charter for up to eight guests. Among the seven Belmond barges, only Napoléon can also be booked by the cabin, on what Belmond calls Open Sailing. The upside of charter is that children are welcome, which the per-cabin minimum age of 12 would otherwise prevent.
Does Dominique Crenn cook on board?
No, and it is worth being clear about it. Crenn, of the three-Michelin-starred Atelier Crenn, designs the menus; a private chef who travels with the boat prepares them. Meals are served table d'hôte, with breakfast, lunch, dinner and beverages through the day included, alongside tastings led by master oenologists.
Which waterway does Marguerite cruise?
Belmond says Burgundy and names no specific river or canal for the route, so neither do we. Third-party barge sites place the itinerary on the Saône and the Canal du Centre, but that is their claim rather than Belmond's. What Belmond does publish is the pair of six-night journeys between Pontailler and St Léger.
