Four Seasons Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat
A Belle Epoque house on its own wooded cape between Nice and Monaco, with a cliff-edge seawater pool at Club Dauphin
The Privata Perspective
The Grand-Hotel opened in 1908 and has been a Four Seasons only since 2015, which is the right way round: the house came first and the brand fitted itself to it. It sits on its own pine-covered cape between Nice and Monaco, and the walk down to Club Dauphin is the part guests describe afterwards.
Seventy-five keys, a count that includes the three villas. The Palace Sea-View Room is the entry category worth taking, though only some of them have a terrace, so it is worth asking. Above that, the Pool Terrace Suites trade the historic building for a private pool under Aleppo pines.
Le Cap holds a Michelin star and serves dinner only. Everything here runs to a season — the operator's dated events all sit inside a March-to-November window — so confirm opening dates before booking flights. June and September are the two stretches we push hardest, because the sea is warm and the coast road is not yet full.
