Trisara
A private-beach estate on Phuket's north-west coast where every villa and suite has its own ocean-view infinity pool
The Privata Perspective
Trisara, "the Garden in the Third Heaven", opened in 2004 on its own cove on Phuket's north-western coast, owned and run by Montara Hospitality Group, a Thai family company. Its great quality is privacy, the rarest thing on Phuket: 39 pool villas and suites in the jungle above a beach reserved for guests, and privately owned residences on the headlands to the north and the south. The MICHELIN Guide raised it to Two Keys in 2026.
We stayed three nights in an Ocean View Pool Villa in September 2026. The villa is superbly planned — a long infinity pool over the treetops, a dressing room, a writing desk and a vast bathroom with an open-air shower — breakfast and La Crique are cooking at a very high level, and the service is excellent. The hardware dates from 2004 and shows it, and the wellness centre was being fully renovated during our stay. We book the Ocean View Pool Villa first, and the residences for families and groups.

Spa and wellness at Trisara
JARA, the spa, is built around a century-old ficus tree, with treatment rooms by the water. Trisara was fully renovating its wellness facilities in September 2026 and has not yet published what the new centre will include. The gym is open 24 hours, and there is a yoga sala by the sea, a Muay Thai ring, two tennis courts and a kids' club.
The best time to visit Trisara
Nov–Apr
Dry season on the Andaman coast: a calmer sea, and the complimentary non-motorised watersports run December to April
May–Oct
Green season: rain in bursts and a rougher sea, with the estate at its greenest; we stayed in September
