Mandarin Oriental, Santiago
A resort in the city — Santiago's largest hotel garden and a lagoon pool in Las Condes
The Privata Perspective
The most resort-like of Santiago's luxury hotels, set in a lush garden in Las Condes that feels a world away from the business district around it. The building began life as a Grand Hyatt; Mandarin Oriental took it over in 2018 and reopened it in 2019 after a full interior renovation, bringing the brand's Asian service polish to Chile.
The signature is the grounds: a lagoon-style outdoor pool with a waterfall, wrapped in one of the largest hotel gardens in the city. Matsuri is a long-running favourite for Nikkei and Japanese cooking, and Senso handles Italian. It is the relaxed counterpoint to the more corporate Ritz-Carlton nearby — and an easy base before the Atacama, Patagonia, or the wine valleys.
