The Privata Perspective
Four Seasons opened in Osaka in August 2024, in Dojima in the Kita ward. It takes twelve floors of the One Dojima tower — the first two and the 28th to 37th — and holds 175 keys, 148 rooms and 27 suites. Nikken Sekkei is the architect; the interiors are by Curiosity, Simplicity and Design Studio Spin.
The GENSUI floor decides the stay. Twenty-one keys — eighteen tatami rooms and three tatami suites — sit on one modern-ryokan floor, a different proposition from the tower rooms below. Everything else is a city hotel, and a good one; Superior and Deluxe share the same 43–46 m² footprint, so below suite level you buy aspect, not space.
We book it for clients pairing Osaka with Kyoto, and for anyone who wants a ryokan night without leaving a full-service hotel. Spring and autumn are the windows. GENSUI is small, so we ask for it the day a booking is confirmed rather than on arrival.
