Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam
A hundred freestanding villas along a kilometre of beachfront between Da Nang and Hoi An, thirty minutes from the international airport
The Privata Perspective
Four Seasons publishes December 2016 as the opening date, but the designer credits point further back: Jaya Ibrahim's original interiors sit alongside newer villas by Design Basis, so the flag is younger than the resort. It still trades as The Nam Hai, and it is still a hundred freestanding villas on a kilometre of beachfront, thirty minutes from Da Nang's airport and a short run south to Hoi An.
The villa category decides the stay. The one-bedroom villas run 87 m² and differ only in what they look at; the pool villas start at 250 m² and are close to three times the space, with the water at your door. Sixty of the hundred have no private pool, so the question answers itself early.
We book it for families and for couples who want a beach week attached to Hoi An rather than a resort in isolation — three pools, one of them adults-only, cover both. February to May is the dry stretch we aim for.
