Janu Tokyo
Aman's sister brand debut — a livelier social counterpart to Aman Tokyo in Azabudai Hills
The Privata Perspective
Janu ('soul' in Sanskrit) is Aman's extrovert sibling — a brand conceived for travellers who crave Aman's design standards and spatial generosity but with more vibrant social energy. Where Aman Tokyo is hushed contemplation, Janu Tokyo buzzes with life: a 4,000 sqm wellness club, multiple lively restaurants, and direct access to Azabudai Hills' cultural precinct — including teamLab's permanent digital art museum and Mori Art Museum.
The 122 rooms occupy the upper floors of one of Tokyo's newest and most ambitious mixed-use towers, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Bay, and on clear days, Mount Fuji. The interiors retain Kerry Hill's signature warmth — natural timber, stone, washi textures — but with a slightly more contemporary, social energy than the meditative Aman aesthetic.
The Janu Wellness Club is the centrepiece: a 4,000 sqm facility open to both guests and members, featuring a 25-metre pool, comprehensive gym, movement studio, spa with treatment rooms, and a social lounge. It has quickly become one of Tokyo's most desirable wellness memberships.
